You probably don’t need me to point it out, but there is a great rise in the amount of high quality Star Wars fan journalism, opinion, and analysis out there. We are really spoiled for choice when it comes to podcasts, blogs, and fansites. It’s an exciting time to be a fan because of all the amazing content that’s been coming out (movies, books, TV, comics!) and due to the huge surge in public enthusiasm. But it’s also a somewhat dark time, since it seems that people are crawling out of the woodwork to argue, polarize, and bash others’ opinions. Social media makes people feel emboldened to harangue the creatives for their choices and harass other fans for their views and experiences. Bizarre fan feuds and witch hunts seem to sadly be part and parcel to this modern fan connectivity.

So, I am still really into Star Wars and SWTOR, but haven’t really been feeling the need to blog on either since:

a) there is already a ton of great fan content and I don’t have any massive insight or spin.

b) this current fan culture is kind of burning me out.

It’s important to me for Star Wars to have a big and positive place in my life, and to protect that.

I’m still here, and I reckon I will post on Tatooine Dreams again in the near future, but for now, you can find my little musings on StardustPop.com where I talk about a wider spectrum of things in books, art, ideas, and pop culture. And maybe some Star Wars, too.
